I recently started building kits again after almost 20 years. I cannot believe how many people are into this!!! I'm trying to find a dependable supplier of custom decals. I found modeltruckin.com by reading other posts. Are there any others I should know about? Also, where can a fellow find inexpensive truck kits (new or built) to rehone my skills? Any input would be appreciated. Thanks!

Brad at modeltruckin is the best around, you don't need to look any further, JBOT was another, but he is so unreliable it is not funny anymore, for kits, try eBay they always have some good deals, and some not so good, but depends where you live as to where you buy from Good luck with your re found hobby, plenty here to keep you busy and if you have questions, just ask, someone will help you out

If you want an inexpensive truck kit to "get your feet wet", I recommend the Revell USA Peterbilt 359 Snap-Tite or the Revell USA Kenworth W900 Aerodyne Snap-tite. Both are well detailed kits, and you should be able to get them for between $20-$25. As for actually getting kits, might I recommend Model Express. Dennis is a great guy to deal with. Then there's Chris at SourKraut's Model Trucks. And you might want to check the Used Truck Corral here on the Forum. Somebody might be selling something you might want. Good luck!

Welcome back to the hobby. It seems the art of big rig and commercial modeling is making a resurgance after many years of dormancy. Many more modelers are tackling these truck kits and we have seen a steady flow of re-releases from the model companies that are still in business. If you're looking for new truck kits to tackle, as was mentioned above, the Pete 359 and KW kits are still readily available. There are also re-releases of the International and Freightliner kits as well that can still be found. I have found however that the Freightliner kit is getting steadily harder to find. Many members here are listing kits and so forth here as well so be sure to check in the classified section regularly to see what might be available. Welcome and enjoy yourself here! We have a great bunch of people here that will help you get back into this hobby full force.

Midnytpanther, this thread is over 4 years old. Southfreedon hasn't been on this board since may 2010.
